Annual meeting of the Irish Association of pharmacologists

Annual meeting of the Irish Association of Pharmacologists

The meeting will take place at the Wellcome Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine (http://www.qub.ac.uk/research-centres/wwiem/)  This is a large purpose-built centre for research located on the Queen’s University campus at the Belfast City Hospital site, opened for use in 2015. WWIEM sits adjacent to the Centre for Cancer Research & Cell Biology and, as such, the venue is right in the hub of health sciences research in Belfast.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide a platform for presentation of state-of-the-art lectures in areas considered of great relevance to healthcare.  Join us for a fantastic programme.  Highlights will include keynote presentations from:

  • Jochen Prehn (Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland) on apoptosis sensitisers
  • Amrita Ahluwalia (William Harvey Research Institute, London) on sodium nitrite in cardioprotection
  • Danny McAuley (Royal Victoria Hospital and Queen's University of Belfast) on acute respiratory distress syndrome

Delegates can enjoy these talks and also abstract presentations, plus networking opportunities. There are prizes available for early career researchers giving oral or poster presentations.

Details of the programme are available here (http://www.pharmacology.ie).
